Released in 1999, this extremely limited edition safe is a promotional edition of the standard retail version of Music Bank.
Housed in an actual heavy metal safe-style box, the exterior is sheet metal (painted steel, or tin). Approx 1mm thick on the back and side panels, 2mm in the corners where the metal overlaps. It was deliberately designed to look like a weathered, burnished bank safe. it features an extruding, non functioning combination dial which also acts as a means to open the safe door when pulled on. The interior of the safe is lined with 3mm thick cork matting. It measures 6" × 3"× 6.5" and weighs 1.65kg in total. The safe contains the same booklet, and cds, as the US commercial pressings of the widely distributed retail boxset. It is believed the matrix runout numbers match the broader commercial release.
This edition of Music Bank is limited to only 204 hand numbered units. They were distributed as part of Columbia records' promotional campaign for Music Bank. Rather than being sold through normal retail channels, these metal safes were sent to high-profile rock radio stations, music industry executives, and select music journalists.

Mastered at A&M Mastering, Hollywood, CA.

Music Bank is a box set of released, previously unreleased and demo material spanning three CDs and a CD-ROM that includes the videos for "Get Born Again", "I Stay Away", "No Excuses" and "We Die Young" (as Quicktime .MOV files). "Again (Jungle Mix)" is an .AIF file compressed to an 8-bit, 22kHz, 176kbps, mono signal. It also includes a game called "The Journey" and multimedia material titled "Jar Of Flies", and a booklet with the liner notes and background information on Alice In Chains.

The CD-ROM material is accessible on PC and Mac.
