Kraftwerk
“Trans-Europe Express” / “Numbers” → Afrika Bambaataa & Soulsonic Force – “Planet Rock”
One of the most famous borrowings in hip-hop history — although Afrika Bambaataa insists that Kraftwerk were not actually sampled: John Robie recreated their parts faithfully in the studio. So technically, it’s more of a replay than a sample.
