Composer and pianist Alessandro Sgobbio releases his third solo album of intimate piano epistles and dedications, showcasing Sgobbio’s piano poetic as well as his personal universe of electronic soundscapes. Piano Music 3 completes Sgobbio’s solo trilogy initiated by the recently acclaimed solo-works Piano Music (2022) & Piano Music 2 (2023).
Alessandro Sgobbio presents eight new intimate compositions, each of them dedicated to a person, place or topic that have a special meaning and importance for him. The album is a visionary and meditative sound experience that invites the listeners to actively reconnect with emotions, memories and visions in both personal and collective perspectives.
Performed on a stunning Fazioli F278 Grand Piano, the album has been recorded, mixed and mastered by Stefano Amerio at the Artesuono Studios in Italy.
”Piano Music 3 intertwines the sadness of the present and the mystery of the future, with a crazy hope that something unexpected can always happen and burst into the passage of time. This is music for the soul, for meditation: a break that keeps us company in the absurd life, a truce in the violence of reality. In French, I would speak of a «havre de paix »”.

“I find such an extremely powerful experience to sit on piano, close my eyes and start playing a song dedication. Each piece is like an open trip diary, where the composer, the listener and the person or place whose the music is dedicated - they all can meet, meditate, coexist and write together new stories.”
