This release of the album is the stand-alone version that was released separately to 'Sister Feelings Call'.

Initially both albums were packaged together as one release as shown here 'this release'.The two LPs were sold shrink wrapped together. The first 10,000 copies included the free LP 'Sister Feelings Call'. As a thank-you to fans, 'Sons And Fascination' was sold shrink wrapped with copies of 'Sister Feelings Call' for the price of one album.

A sticker on front of the sleeve of 'Sons And Fascination' identified the release as the limited edition double LP and the package included two inserts . The first, 'The New Album by Simple Minds' featured information about the album, discography and tour dates. The second - 'Simple Minds Information Sheet' featured details about official merchandise.

The two albums were later separated with 'Sons And Fascination' selling at full price and 'this release' selling at a budget price. Subsequently, a version of this album was released by Virgin under its 'The Virgin Mid-Price Range' but with the cat. no. OVED 292 see here 'this version'.
